Utility Lead Hand

The Town of Lac du Bonnet is seeking an experienced, collaborative and self-motivated professional to join our Public Works Utility Team as a full time Utility Lead Hand.  The Utility Lead Hand reports to the Public Works & Utilities Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Water Treatment Plant systems and sewer systems in the Town of Lac du Bonnet. Key responsibilities include ensuring delivery of safe and clean water in accordance with federal, provincial and municipal legislation, policies and standards. The Utility Lead Hand is also responsible to operate, maintain and troubleshoot the wastewater lagoon and Town’s underground sew infrastructure and its processes in compliance with Municipal, Provincial and Federal regulations.

This is a full-time union position (IUOE 987) with a scheduled rotation and on-call when required.


High School Diploma required
Water Treatment Certificate – Level II
Water Distribution – Level II
Wastewater Collection – Level I
Wastewater Treatment – Level I
Minimum 3 years experience operating and maintaining water equipment and systems
Must have a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License with clean drivers abstract
Mathematical & mechanical aptitude are preferred
