  • Purchasing hydrants and valves
  • Discussing the difference between Sliding Gate and Compression Hydrants

Analyzing Hydrant defects

Summary

Working on hydrants:

  • Disassemble the Hydrant(s),
  • discussing the repairs needed and
  • reassembling the hydrants.

Each hydrant and isolation valve will be operated upon completion.

Kurtis Robson:

Owner and President of Deblo Industries Ltd, Kurtis was born, raised and resides in Winnipeg and has been involved in the water and waste industry for over 30 years.

Deblo Industries represents various manufacturers in the water, waste and industrial markets selling quality products through distribution and working closely with municipal public works personnel and consulting engineers through out Saskatchewan, Manitoba and North West Ontario. With years of experience maintaining and repairing hydrants and valves, Kurtis understands the importance of implementing and administering a hydrant and valve maintenance program, ensuring that your departments and community are prepared and ready to fight fires.

Chris Farkas:

Outside/Technical Sales Rep for Deblo Industries Ltd, Chris was born in Winnipeg and now resides in La Salle, MB. Chris has been involved in the water and waste industry for 15+ years, 12 years with the City of Winnipeg Water Services, repairing and maintaining the distribution system and now 6 years with Deblo Industries Ltd in a sales/technical role.

All participants are required to have proper PPE for working on a hydrant.

  • Hard Hat
  • Steel toed footwear
  • High vis vest, shirt or jacket
  • gloves are recommended


Lunch, refreshments and course materials are included in the registration costs.
