Water Distribution 3-4 Preparation Course - Virtual Classroom

This course will be presented by our training partner BCWWA

March 21 - 25, 2022 (5 Days) 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Daily (CST)

CEU Credits: 3.0

Class Format

Virtual classes are offered in real time with a live instructor. When you are part of a virtual class, your instructor is able to provide the interactive classroom experience from your own computer. You can participate in discussions, test your knowledge and ask questions, just like in a regular classroom. These classes run similarly to a live class and are a great option for those people interested in completing their training in a typical timeframe.

Learning Objectives 

After completing this course, you will be able to: 
  • Understand and apply water distribution system information/components including how to assess system demand, distribution systems, hydraulics, system layouts and maps, perform pressure readings, prepare contingency plans and read blueprints, readings and maps;
  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust disinfection in water distribution systems and inspect and evaluate source water for contamination;
  • Understand the functions of a variety of equipment, and how to operate and perform maintenance on equipment including pumps, chlorinators, engines, generators, hand tools, etc.; and
  • Understand how to perform security, safety and administrative procedures including administering a safety/compliance program, conducting cross connection surveys, developing and maintaining a sample site plan and preparing regulatory reports.

Who Should Attend 

You should take this course if you:

  • Wanting to advance your understanding or move into a level 3/4 operator role; or
  • An operator preparing to write a certification exam.


        All attendees must have their own computer with audio and video capabilities to participate.
