Introduction to Hydrogeology & Groundwater Management - Virtual Classroom

November 9 - 10, 2021 (2 Days) 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Daily (CDT)

Class Format

Virtual classes are offered in real time with a live instructor. When you are part of a virtual class, your instructor is able to provide the interactive classroom experience from your own computer. You can participate in discussions, test your knowledge and ask questions, just like in a regular classroom. These classes run similarly to a live class and are a great option for those people interested in completing their training in a typical timeframe.

Learning Objectives 

Teaches communication and financial skills required in the water sector.

After completing this course, you will be able to: 

  • Be familiar about general groundwater aspects;
    Become familiar about aquifers and the classification system; Identify selected groundwater system components;
  • Identify selected groundwater flow concepts;
  • Identify steps and planning requirements for well construction projects; Describe the purpose of various well testing and evaluation requirements; Identify tools for monitoring and evaluating well performance;
  • Describe a well monitoring and maintenance plan; Identify potential water quality risks and hazards;
  • Describe the requirements for wellhead and aquifer protection; and Become familiar with provisions of groundwater regulation.

Who Should Attend 

This course is designed for individuals who work with and/or are involved in groundwater-based water systems  or construction projects above aquifers such as managers, operators / water utility technicians, or individuals who are interested in learning about hydrogeology and groundwater management. This course is NOT designed for hydrogeologists. 

        All attendees must have their own computer with audio and video capabilities to participate.
